Mill-Max sockets are the premier choice for socketing your micro controller. Socketing your micro controller allows you to change your controller or move it around to different boards with easily, without desoldering anything.
Mill-Max sockets are also the lowest profile option available for controller sockets.
Which pins do you need? That is a great question and is easy to answer!
If you’re socketing a Blok, Elite-C, Pro Micro, or any other USB C controller that doesn’t need to have a battery underneath it you should select the ’Short Mill-Max Pins’ from the Pin dropdown. These are 6.35mm pins and allow you to get the lowest profile socketed setup available.
If you’re socketing a nice!nano for a wireless build and require a battery to be underneath the controller, you must select the ‘Long Pin Strip’ from the Pins dropdown. These ship in a strip of 40 and must be cut by the user (this is very simple to do). These are a bit longer and allow you to fit a battery underneath your controller.
